Backlink Plan Generator
Builds a ready-to-use backlink plan spreadsheet for any local business, with the copy for every submission written.
NOT PUBLIC · CLIENT TOOL LOCAL TOOL. THE IMAGE IS A GENERATED COMMAND CARD.
The problem
The original generator was lost, but a handover document and an already-delivered client workbook still defined the client-facing format. Rebuilding every client's opportunities, submission URLs, copy, pacing and tracking columns by hand would repeat the same structure with different business facts.
What it does
A reusable Python tool that produces a client-ready backlink plan spreadsheet: 13 columns, a summary sheet, and a rules-and-warnings sheet, matching the format of a report already delivered to a real client.
Rebuilt from scratch off a surviving handover document after the original script was lost. Runs three ways, including reading the client and keywords straight out of the Auto-Blogger database so app keywords become anchor texts automatically.
Who it is for
SEO teams and agencies doing link building for local businesses.
What it does, feature by feature
- 50 to 60 opportunities. Directories, local citations, Web 2.0, social, review and employer sites, documents, video, press releases and outreach.
- Real submission links. Rows point at prospect submission pages for a person to review.
- Copy written for you. Directory descriptions, bios, articles, press releases and outreach emails from the business's own details.
- Weekly pacing. Tasks spread across four weeks, with a status dropdown on every row.
- Summary and rules. A summary sheet with live completion counts and a rules-and-warnings sheet.
- Linked to the blog app. Can read a client and its keywords from the Auto-Blogger database, so anchor text matches the blog targets.
Why it is built this way
I rebuilt the generator from those surviving artifacts and made the business profile the only changing input. It can also read a client's keywords directly from the Auto-Blogger SQLite database without writing back, so blog targets and anchor-text rotation stay aligned; it deliberately produces a plan and drafts, not account creation or submissions, because factual outreach still needs a named reviewer.
What was hard
The original script was gone, so the implementation had to be reconstructed from the handover specification and the reference workbook rather than recovered from source.
What it ships with
- 13-column deliverable
- Reads live app data
- Three run modes
