When institutions fail
When structures break, when they go to dust.
Who benefits from it?
Those who are sitting at the top? Those who are at the bottom?
No, it is those who were just inches away from being at the top.
Throughout the years, I have read countless book, many more podcasts.
I always see a pattern recurring, when companies are shut down, when Governments fall, when an institution of power is left vacant, it creates a void.
A void that is to be filled.
And sometimes that void fills incompetent people, sometimes it brings much needed shift too.
When kodak was shut down because it did not pivot into digital cameras. or, when blockbuster misunderstood the online streaming market. or, when yahoo refused to acquire google.
They all were moves that are now looked upon in despair.
But those who were driving these companies, they did not know what was about to come.
A total shift in paradigm, how the said things are used.
In the crux they refused change.
The institutions broke, now we have Netflix, Google, Sony as we know today.
In an alternative reality it would have been possible that we would have been sitting on Film Cameras, DVDs.
But we are not anymore.
It is because someone did not wait for a mammoth to fall, they just made their moves around it.
The companies sitting or soon to be at the top do not care about bigger brands sitting there.
Yes they have more money Yes they have more talent
But,
They also have more information that is lost in communication. Many times, these structures are rigid.
Good brains cannot function in rigidity, they need space to think, breathe and execute.
The structures not innovating will always fall, but what will never change is the new and better structures replacing them.
Yes, there are many occasions in which these result in failiure, like we saw in crypto space, or we saw the smartphones which were great ideas but not scalable.
Power over a market will never be over, there are very few companies that have survived the internet crash, and when this AI fad will be over, those companies which did not adapt will fail and then all of a sudden new spaces will emerge in the market, where the market did not allow.
New companies will always emerge, new structures of power will always follow same.
Make your move.
