ShutterArc Productions
A 590-photo raw archive triaged into a 9-show verified portfolio.
The problem
A Jaipur live-event photography and marketing agency needed a portfolio site, but the archive itself needed sorting first: 590 raw photos across 18 zip drops in Downloads, with a fashion lookbook and a jewellery shoot mixed in that turned out to belong to a different client entirely.
What it does
A portfolio site for a live-event photography and marketing agency — home, services, portfolio and contact, built from a raw archive that needed real triage before it was a portfolio at all.
The brand's own logo colors (not an invented palette) drive every accent on the site. A camera-shutter-blade motif — literal to the name — opens the hero on load and reappears as the hover mask across the portfolio.
Why it is built this way
I built contact-sheet montages instead of opening 590 files by hand, which is what actually revealed the archive was three different shoots wearing one folder structure. Once the fashion and jewellery work was confirmed to belong elsewhere, it came out of the pipeline completely — not hidden behind a filter, removed from the build. What was left was curated down with a Node/sharp script into responsive WebP at three sizes plus inline blur placeholders, averaging under 300KB even at full size against 20MB+ camera originals.
What was hard
The client's screenshot of real show names — DJ Dynameets, Farhan Akhtar, Sachet–Parampara — had to be matched to the right photo folders, and a wrong celebrity attribution on a live site is a real reputational risk, not a cosmetic bug. Visual guessing was not good enough. Cross-referencing each folder's EXIF shoot date against the client's listed dates did the matching instead — two hit their exact day-of-week (a Thursday shoot landing on a Thursday), which is also what revealed one bucket I'd grouped as a single show was actually two different nights, and got split apart.
Outcomes
- 590→70 photo triage
- 9 shows verified by EXIF
- Zero hosting cost
